Greenock Creek Wines, founded in 1984 by Michael and Annabel Waugh, has long been synonymous with Barossa Valley intensity and tradition. The Roennfeldt Road Shiraz is the estate’s flagship—produced only in exceptional vintages and revered for its monumental depth, structure, and longevity. Crafted from ancient, low-yielding vines on the western slopes of the Barossa, it remains one of Australia’s most powerful and collectible Shiraz expressions.

Vineyard
The Roennfeldt Road vineyard, located near Marananga in the western Barossa, is planted on deep red-brown clay and ironstone soils. These dry-grown vines, many planted in the 1940s, produce tiny yields of berries with extraordinary concentration. Hand-harvested and fermented in open vats, the wine was matured for 36 months in 100% new American oak barrels, creating a wine of immense richness and longevity while maintaining remarkable balance.

Vintage
2014 was a cooler, more moderate year following several warm Barossa vintages. Despite a challenging start, the season settled into near-perfect ripening conditions, producing fruit of exceptional purity, fragrance, and structure.
