A full and fruity Shiraz, Kaesler Old Bastard is fresh on the nose with hints of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. On the palate, forest fruits, blackberry and mulberry mingle with spices of anise and nutmeg with some coffee and chocolate notes. Tannins are silky and balanced, with a nice acidity. This shiraz will cellar for 20+ years.

Fresh and fruit driven with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, some cherry notes on the nose. A combination of forest fruits with blackberries and mulberries on the palate. Savoury, aromatic spices of anise and nutmeg, with some coffee and chocolate notes. Silky, delicate tannins; good acidity and well balanced. 

Critic tasting note: (2012 vintage) "This has fresh blueberry and brambleberry aromas with violets, some iron-like elements, coal smoke and cassis. The palate is very fresh and elegant and the very bright acidity is a highlight. This is a vintage that has a very restrained feel with a sense of containment. Reserved, yet long.
