The 2012 d’Arenberg The Dead Arm Shiraz from McLaren Vale is a concentrated and age-worthy wine sourced from old vines afflicted by Eutypa dieback. This disease limits yield but intensifies fruit concentration, resulting in a bold and expressive Shiraz. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and mulberry are layered with dark chocolate, cured meat, baking spice, and a hint of earth. The palate is dense and structured, offering firm tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, savoury finish with notes of licorice, black pepper, and oak spice. A wine of impressive depth and longevity.
