About This Wine

Les Amoureuses is a Premier Cru vineyard whose name translates as “the lovers”. The domaine’s parcel covers 52.85 ares, with the oldest vines over 60 years old and the youngest planted in 1966. Most of the vineyard was planted between 1954 and 1956. The soil consists of 30–50 cm of red clay over a compact limestone slab with minimal fissuring, into which the vines force their roots with notable strength. The style of the wine reflects the character of this soil, combining brilliance and finesse.

Producer Tasting Notes:
“For us, Les Amoureuses represents the very essence of Burgundy; the most Burgundian of Burgundy wines. No other wine in the world has that paradoxical union of exceptional richness (aromatic intensity, depth of texture and length on the palate) and such airy delicacy. The “nose” is a bouquet of flowers and red berry fruit. If any wine has the ability to arouse emotions it is Les Amoureuses.”- Domaine Jacques-Frederic Mugnier
