About This Wine
Echézeaux Grand Cru is located in Flagey-Echézeaux in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy.
The Premier Cru terroirs of Les Suchots separate the Echézeaux Grand Cru vineyards from those of Vosne-Romanée to the south.
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot follows organic vineyard practices rooted in long-standing family tradition.
The estate is led by brothers Yves and Jean-Pierre Confuron, continuing the traditions of Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot while maintaining a focus on sélection massale.
The grapes are harvested later than most producers to ensure ripe stems and are fermented in whole clusters with long cuvaisons lasting two to three weeks.
Producer Notes
The wine receives very little pigeage and is matured longer in oak than many comparable wines, typically between 18 and 24 months.
Echézeaux is regarded as the finest Grand Cru of the domaine, offering a more refined expression than the estate’s weightier Clos Vougeot and Chambertin bottlings.
The wine is highly aromatic and precisely structured on the palate.
