Awards, Ratings & Reviews

17.5/20 — La Revue du Vin de France
(2009 Vintage, Tasted: Jan 2012)

18/20 — Bettane et Desseauve
(2009 Vintage, When to drink: 2019–2027)

94 Points — Vinous Media
“91–94 A deft touch of wood frames the strikingly sophisticated and pure mix of spice-infused layered red pinot and black cherry aromas that gracefully merge into the mineral-driven medium weight flavors that are a gorgeous contrast in richness and delineation while the very firm and serious finish retains a fine sense of focus and drive. This is a terrific effort and approaches grand cru quality. Worth strong consideration.”

About This Wine

Premier Cru Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts in the Côte de Nuits. Winemaking includes strict green pruning, a three- to four-day cold soak, long and slow fermentations of around 30 days, and infusion rather than forceful extraction. Most cuvées are vinified with a portion of whole clusters. Grapes are manually selected, picked in multiple passes and sorted rigorously. Wines are racked late and kept on lees in barriques before bottling by gravity without fining or filtration.

About the Winery

Cécile Tremblay, grand-niece of Henri Jayer, founded the domaine in 2003. She began with three hectares of family vineyards previously leased out and has expanded holdings over time, including vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny. The estate is known for careful vineyard work, rigorous fruit selection and a gentle approach to extraction and fermentation.
