Overview
The 2006 Jasper Hill Georgia's Paddock Shiraz 750ml is one of Australia's benchmark single-vineyard Shiraz wines, produced from the renowned Georgia's Paddock vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria. Established by Ron and Elva Laughton in 1975, Jasper Hill has earned an international reputation for biodynamic viticulture and terroir-driven wines, with Georgia's Paddock recognised as one of the country's finest expressions of cool-climate Shiraz.
The outstanding 2006 vintage beautifully captures the distinctive character of Heathcote's ancient Cambrian soils, combining vibrant dark fruit, savoury complexity and finely structured tannins. With nearly two decades of bottle age, the wine has developed remarkable harmony while retaining the power, freshness and longevity that have made Georgia's Paddock a true Australian icon.
Vintage & Winemaking
The 2006 growing season delivered excellent ripening conditions, producing fruit with exceptional concentration, balance and natural acidity. Sourced exclusively from the biodynamically farmed Georgia's Paddock vineyard, the low-yielding vines produced intensely flavoured berries that faithfully express the site's distinctive mineral-rich Cambrian soils.
Fruit was hand harvested and traditionally vinified with minimal intervention to preserve vineyard expression. Matured in French oak before bottling, the wine was crafted to emphasise purity, structure and longevity rather than excessive extraction or oak influence. The result is a beautifully balanced Shiraz with remarkable finesse, complexity and ageing potential.
