Producer

Coriole was founded by Hugh and Molly Lloyd in 1967, with its first wine released in 1969, and remains owned and managed by the Lloyd family. Situated in the hills of McLaren Vale, the estate has a long association with Shiraz, the region’s traditional red variety, with Coriole’s oldest estate vines dating to 1919.

Coriole combines traditional winemaking with an experimental spirit and has also played an important role in introducing Italian and Mediterranean varieties to Australia. The estate’s vineyards are predominantly planted on terra rossa soils over hard-capped limestone, while individual vineyard blocks are handled separately to maximise their potential and preserve their individual character.
