About the Wine
The original and most powerful expression of Penfoldsā multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy, Grange stands as a benchmark for Australian winemaking. Crafted from fully ripe, intensely flavoured Shiraz, it delivers remarkable depth, structure and longevity.
First produced experimentally in 1951, Grange has maintained an unbroken line of vintages that showcases the synergy between Shiraz and the diverse soils and climates of South Australia. This 1975 vintage highlights that heritage ā an embodiment of both history and power.
Producer Tasting Notes
Colour: Garnet red.
Nose: Sweet leather, spice and meaty aromas with intense liquorice and almost port-like nuances.
Palate: Rich and concentrated with ripe tobacco-berry fruit, hints of spice and leafiness. Firm, extractive tannins make this a muscular, structured Grange that may soften with time.
