Overview
Le Jars Blanc is Schubert Estateās estate-grown Viognier from Block One in the Barossa Valley. The site combines sandy clay loam, permeable clay and weathered rock, producing an aromatic white wine with ripe stone and tropical fruit, fresh citrus character and subtle oak-derived texture.
Vineyard
The Viognier is sourced from Block One of the Schubert Estate vineyard. The site features layers of sandy clay loam over friable, permeable clay, which sits above a carbonate layer with highly weathered rock below. This soil profile provides moderate drainage, good water-holding capacity and allows unrestricted root growth.
Viticulture
Schubert Estate follows a low-intervention, site-focused approach to viticulture, seeking to preserve the individual character of each vineyard block. The estate is certified with Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
