Overview
Chateau Minuty 281 is the estate's tribute to the Mediterranean, created from a selection of its finest Grenache grapes grown on plots by the sea. Introduced in 2015, the cuvee takes its name from Pantone 281, the deep blue used for its distinctive bottle and a reference to the Mediterranean Sea. The wine is designed around complexity, character and length, with a pronounced maritime influence.
Vineyard & Winemaking
The grapes are selected from the estate's finest Grenache vines located on plots by the sea. The vineyard holds HEV (High Environmental Value) certification. Fruit is hand-picked and plot-selected, with free-run juice undergoing low-temperature alcoholic fermentation and no malolactic fermentation.
Producer Tasting Notes
âThe appearance is clear and bright, with a pale hue and pearly highlights. The nose is expressive, elegant, and complex, opening with aromas of exotic fruits and floral notes. On the palate, it is generous and aromatic, distinguished by a saline minerality. The attack is lively, driven by fine tension, leading to a long, well-balanced finish.â â Chateau Minuty
Critic Reviews
92/100 â Tom Cannavan
âStriking in its metallic purple paint-dipped bottle, this blend of 85% Grenache with Syrah 15% is Minuty's prestige cuvĂ©e. It is among the palest of this year's crop of Provence pinks and is quite headily perfumed with wild strawberry and elderflower, rose-hip and a hint of peach. In the mouth it is very much fruit-forward, and though it hints at sweetness, with only 1g/l of residual sugar it is not: the finish is dry, and after a mid-palate suggestion of pulpy, creamy soft red fruits the acidity is tingling and refreshing.â
