Awards, Ratings & Reviews

98/100 — Ken Gargett
ā€œImpressive, exhibiting such length and exuberance. There is refinement here, though it quickly morphs into a hedonistic energy, balance and focus, with fresh acidity running the length. This will easily sail through the next twenty to thirty years. 98 Points.ā€

97/100 — Lisa Cardelli
ā€œA young and characteristic expression of cabernet bursting with crushed violets, freshly squeezed cassis, pencil shave, spearmint, and extra dark chocolate. On the other end, an Old World-like reminder of cooking herbs, garrigue, and rolled tobacco leaf. Yet unashamedly Australian all the way through. It will last decades while already showing a great deal. 97 Points.ā€

97/100 — Tyson Stelzer
ā€œA core of classic blackcurrant fruit definition is accented with cedar and tobacco leaf and energised by vibrant acid focus and a spectacular cascade of powerful tannins that will hold it sure for half a century. Drink: 2053–2073. 97 Points.ā€

19+/20 — Matthew Jukes

About This Wine

Inspired by the jet that carried Penfolds to global fame, Bin 707 represents Penfolds’ vision for a long-lived Australian Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from climatically distinct vineyards in McLaren Vale, Padthaway and the Barossa Valley, the 2023 vintage was matured in new American oak, maintaining the hallmark style established with the inaugural 1964 release. The wine completes fermentation and maturation in new oak, reflecting Penfolds’ multi-vineyard, multi-region approach.

About the Winery

Penfolds is one of Australia’s most historic and influential wine producers. Founded in 1844, the winery is renowned for multi-region sourcing, long-lived red wines, and flagship bottlings such as Grange and Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon. Under the direction of Chief Winemaker Peter Gago, Penfolds continues to craft wines defined by concentration, structure and ageing potential.
