Overview
A rare and beautifully expressive red Burgundy from one of the CĂ´te de Beaune's most celebrated producers, the 2023 Coche-Dury Monthelie showcases the domaine's exceptional approach to Pinot Noir. While Coche-Dury is internationally renowned for its highly collectible white Burgundies, its limited-production red wines offer an equally compelling expression of precision, purity and finesse.
The 2023 vintage displays remarkable freshness, with layered red berry fruit, delicate spice and subtle earthy complexity. Fine-grained tannins and an elegant mineral character contribute to a graceful, persistent finish.
Vineyard
Monthelie is a historic Burgundy appellation in the CĂ´te de Beaune, situated between Meursault, Volnay and Auxey-Duresses. Its limestone-rich slopes are particularly suited to producing elegant Pinot Noir with bright acidity, aromatic complexity and refined structure.
Coche-Dury's holdings in Monthelie form part of the family's relatively small vineyard estate, which extends across several prestigious CĂ´te de Beaune appellations. The domaine's meticulous vineyard management and commitment to quality contribute to the distinctive purity and precision of its wines.

âVery fresh, and particularly so in the context of the 2023 vintage ... various red berries, spice and more subtle earth influence.â

Producer
Coche-Dury is one of Burgundy's most prestigious and highly sought-after producers, based in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune. Formally established in 1973 following the marriage of Jean-François Coche and Odile Dury, the domaine draws upon generations of family winemaking heritage.
The estate farms just over nine hectares of vineyards, with approximately half located in Meursault. Additional holdings extend across Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Volnay and Corton-Charlemagne. Although internationally celebrated for its extraordinary Chardonnay wines, the domaine also produces small quantities of highly regarded Pinot Noir.
Since 2010, RaphaĂŤl Coche and his wife Charline have overseen the estate's day-to-day operations, continuing the family's commitment to meticulous viticulture, traditional Burgundian winemaking and exceptional quality. The domaine's wines are prized for their purity, precision and remarkable ability to express their individual terroirs.
