About This Wine

Grown on the deep sand around the boundaries of the property, the Cabernet Sauvignon is forced to push its roots down to the subsoil red clay, generating the largest canopies in the vineyard.

In the heat of summer, the fruit is shielded from the sun, preserving the vegetative, herbaceous character of Cabernet along with generosity and richness synonymous with the Barossa climate.

Producer Notes

The Barossa Valley is one of the warmest and most consistent wine regions in Australia. Growing Cabernet Sauvignon is generally considered a cool climate affair, but I love the aggressive nature of the variety, being quick growing, vigorous and hearty.

This wine is like a warm hug from an old friend, it sits so comfortably and has you at ease.

Rich Cassis, currants, cedar and spice, the palate is awash with blue fruits, its silky & soft with plenty of flavour and length. Lovely drop!

About the Producer

In 1979, Dennis Canute and sixth generation Barossa grape grower Christine purchased a rundown vineyard in Vine Vale and rejuvenated the old Shiraz and Grenache grandfather vines.

Next-generation grower/winemaker Christian Canute is proud of this unique vineyard and makes sure its personality speaks clearly through each wine that bears the Rusden label.
