The Franco-Canadian Patrick Piuze, born in 1973 in Quebec, is regarded as the ānew rock starā of Chablis. At the age of 18, he met Marc Chapoutier, who inspired him to pursue a career as a winemaker. In the summer of 2000, he began his winemaking career at Olivier Leflaive in Puligny-Montrachet, where he quickly took on the responsibility for the Chablis wines of that estate. After a stint at the renowned Maison Verget, he ultimately became the cellar master at Jean-Marc Brocard. In July 2008, he started his own winery as a winemaker and rapidly gained worldwide recognition as the ārising starā of Chablis. Patrick's wines combine remarkable density with a silky texture, distinctive minerality, and precisely balanced structure.
