Overview
A highly sought-after Premier Cru from one of Vosne-Romanée's most respected domaines, the 2022 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Les Beaumonts expresses the power, minerality and refined structure of this prestigious Côte de Nuits terroir. Produced from approximately 60-year-old Pinot Noir vines, this limited-production Burgundy combines concentration with the precision and delicacy that define Charles van Canneyt's winemaking philosophy.
Vineyard
Les Beaumonts is a prestigious Premier Cru climat in Vosne-Romanée, renowned for producing Pinot Noir of remarkable depth, mineral character and ageing potential. Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat owns just 0.32 hectares across two east-facing parcels, planted on clay-limestone soils. The vines average approximately 60 years of age, contributing concentration, complexity and a distinctive expression of the vineyard's terroir.
Production is exceptionally limited, at approximately 1,900 bottles.
Viticulture & Winemaking
True to the domaine's philosophy of working closely with nature, the grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. Approximately 80% of the fruit is destemmed before fermentation, with indigenous yeasts driving the fermentation naturally. Traditional punch-downs are employed during fermentation to develop structure and extract flavour.
The wine is matured for 16 months in oak barrels, approximately 30% of which are new. It is bottled without fining or filtration, preserving its natural texture, aromatic complexity and expression of place.
Producer Tasting Notes
A lot of power and minerality.

Producer
Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is one of the highly regarded producers of Pinot Noir in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. Founded in Vougeot by Alain Hudelot in 1962, the domaine expanded significantly following his marriage to Odile Noëllat, whose family has a long history of vineyard ownership in Burgundy.
Since 2008, the estate has been led by Alain Hudelot's grandson, Charles van Canneyt, working alongside cellarmaster Vincent Munier. The domaine farms approximately 10 hectares across Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, including holdings in the Grand Crus Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Clos de Vougeot.
The estate is particularly noted for the age of its vines, averaging more than 50 years, with some parcels dating back to the 1920s. Careful vineyard management, meticulous vineyard work and measured oak maturation help preserve purity, finesse and the individual character of each climat.
