âSuper refined. Plum, citrus peel and tobacco leaf with some graphite sprinkled into the mix. Incredibly fine tannins and a lavender-like finish. Great!â
ââInternational Wine and Spirits Competition
This Brunello di Montalcino is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, grown in the Bellaria area of Castelnuovo dellâAbate at 350â400 m a.s.l. on calcareous soils. Traditional vinification with 15â20 days of maceration at controlled temperature was followed by 36 months of ageing in 30 hl oak casks, and an additional 6â9 months of bottle refinement before release.
The wine has an intense ruby-red colour with garnet tinges that intensify with ageing. On the nose, it shows refined aromas of plum, citrus peel, tobacco leaf, and graphite, along with wild herbs and spice. The palate is structured and elegant, with fragrant, balanced tannins, lively acidity, and a persistent finish layered with red fruits and dark chocolate richness.
