The 2016 Levantine Hill Samantha’s Paddock is a refined, cool-climate Bordeaux-style red blend from the Yarra Valley, offering precision, structure, and emerging bottle complexity. Produced by Levantine Hill Estate, this wine is sourced from steep, low-yielding vineyard parcels, shaped to express site, balance, and longevity rather than sheer weight.

The 2016 vintage in the Yarra Valley delivered excellent conditions for Bordeaux varieties, allowing full flavour development while retaining freshness and natural acidity. Aromatically, the wine is expressive and complex, revealing blueberry and blackcurrant compote, violet, cracked pepper, and dried medicinal herbs, with subtle savoury undertones beginning to emerge with time.

On the palate, the wine is focused and linear, built around taut, chalky tannins and lifted acidity rather than broad richness. The structure is chiselled and muscular, yet well-balanced, carrying dark fruit intensity through a long, composed finish. With time in bottle, the wine has developed added savoury nuance, lending depth and polish without losing energy.
