Overview
The 2013 Sons of Eden Remus Old Vine Shiraz is a cellar-worthy Eden Valley Shiraz sourced from low-yielding old vines, including 50+ year old vineyards across Moculta, Flaxman Valley and central Eden Valley. Built with depth, concentration and freshness, Remus represents the cooler-climate, high-altitude side of Barossa Shiraz.
This mature release combines dark berry fruit, dried herb complexity, fine velvety tannins and the structural drive expected from old-vine Eden Valley fruit.
Vintage & Winemaking
Fruit was hand harvested between 6 March and 26 March 2013, then destemmed and crushed into small 1.5 tonne open-top fermenters. Selected ferments included a component of whole bunches, with a pre-fermentation cool soak and daily hand plunging for gentle extraction.
After extended time on skins, the wine was pressed to predominantly new French oak hogsheads and matured for 22 months. It was bottled using natural clarification and stabilisation, with minimal fining and no filtration.

Pair with beef, venison, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, chargrilled ribeye or richly flavoured mushroom dishes.
