2008 Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz 750ml

A full and fruity Shiraz, Kaesler Old Bastard is fresh on the nose with hints of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. On the palate, forest fruits, blackberry and mulberry mingle with spices of anise and nutmeg with some coffee and chocolate notes. Tannins are silky and balanced, with a nice acidity. This shiraz will cellar for 20+ years.

Fresh and fruit driven with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, some cherry notes on the nose. A combination of forest fruits with blackberries and mulberries on the palate. Savoury, aromatic spices of anise and nutmeg, with some coffee and chocolate notes. Silky, delicate tannins; good acidity and well balanced. 

Critic tasting note: (2008 vintage) "Fabulous old vines here. Enticing rich nose of vanilla, mocha, blackberry and liquorice notes. The attack is rich and full but with perfectly balanced acidity. The tannins are supple the length super long and intense. The palate is refine with supple vanilla, spice, blackberry / black raspberry fruit flavours and more liquorice with a savoury spice flavours. Impressive rich red with excellent concentration and balance. A superb bottle of wine, the Old Bastard is considered the flagship shiraz at Kaesler.
