With nearly two decades of bottle age, the 2006 Bin 389 has evolved beautifully. The bouquet opens with aromas of blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry, layered with cedar, cigar box and graphite. Secondary notes of leather, mocha, cocoa, dried herbs and warm spice reflect its maturation and classic Penfolds oak influence.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and seamlessly integrated. Cabernet provides firm structure and definition, while Shiraz contributes plush mid-palate weight and dark fruit richness.
