About the Wine
Dom Pérignon Brut is a symbol of luxury and the epitome of Champagne excellence, crafted exclusively from grapes harvested in a single vintage. The 2005 release expresses the contrast and character of a year marked by warm weather and careful selection in the vineyard. It reflects the vision of Pierre Pérignon and the house’s commitment to balance, depth and precision.
Producer Tasting Notes – Dom Pérignon
On Nose:
The wine’s rich bouquet unfolds in successive waves — intense fruit, more black than red, melting into silvery minerality with notes of praline and coriander.
On Palate:
Structured, focused and dense with a spicy, flowery finish that lingers on the palate. A wine of strength and presence.
The Harvest:
2005 was a year of contrasts. After a warm summer and August heatwave, cool, rainy weather in September reduced yields, but the careful selection of fruit resulted in wines of exceptional quality and aromatic maturity. Harvest began on September 14.
Critic Tasting Highlights
“Some 50% Chardonnay which explains its elegance and lift right out of the glass. The nose wows with expressive chalky mineral notes. Lighter than the 2004 but with electricity and fragrance… Precision and purity.”
— Anthony Gismondi, Dec 2015 (96 Points)
“With some age, this is a gloriously ripe and toasty wine … rich texture, creamy mousse and great concentration. Ready to drink, will hold well through 2025.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Jan 2015 (95 Points)
