It began with a wet spell and a later than average budburst, followed by mild, dry and warm spring weather that allowed for perfect flowering and set.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Reserve Chardonnay site is located on the most protected corner of Medhurst’s mature block, planted in 2000. A gentle west-facing slope, the site is protected from winds and afternoon sun by a tree line and hillside.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnly the top half of the slope was used, where decomposed gravel runs into duplex clay with minimal topsoil.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eProducer Notes\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAppearance is brilliant pale straw and the nose is immediately full of lemon, lime, curd, honey and toasty oak and is wonderfully complex. The palate brims with rich white peach, lemon balm and beautiful fruit concentration. This is a long and delicious wine with fine and delicate acidity, the oak framing the detailed fruit profile.
